Varun Persaud, P.Eng.
- Varun is an effective project manager with strong leadership abilities. He is proficient in project planning, efficient design, and optimized engineering and construction solutions within an organized, collaborative work environment.
- Varun has worked as both a mechanical engineer and project manager in the successful execution of construction projects, detailed engineering and on studies for both engineering consulting firms and on Owner’s teams. He leads by example in setting the culture and walking the talk in terms of on-time and on-budget performance in both the client and consulting spaces.
- He has previously worked for Vale in Sudbury, Ontario and with Centerra Gold Inc. where, acting as Study Manager, he was responsible for overseeing the development of the feasibility study and subsequent filing of the NI 43-101 for the Gatsuurt Gold Project in Mongolia while working within the Corporate Project Management Office.
- Varun most recently successfully acted as Field Project Manager for a leading equipment manufacturer to oversee the greenfield construction of a tailings thickener and pump station on Kirkland Lake Gold’s Macassa Site. He developed a trusting relationship with the all parties to ensure the successful execution of the project.
- Varun has a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) from University of Ontario Institute of Technology (UOIT) in Mechanical Engineering (Mechatronics). He is a registered Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario and is a member of the Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy and Petroleum and the Ontario Society of Professional Engineers.
